Virtual Pilot Classes

Summer Sessions

Writing the Pilot - Wednesdays 7:30PM ET 6/5-7/31 (No class 6/19)

In this eight week introduction to pilot writing, you will learn how to outline and write a half hour television pilot. You will learn the basics of act structure, scenes, and dialogue. You will leave the class with a finished first draft of a script. Maximum six students. On Zoom. $500

Pilot Workshop - Mondays 7:30PM ET 6/3-7/29 (No class 6/10)

In this eight week workshop, you can do whatever you want! But probably, you should write a new pilot or workshop and revise an older script. You will get feedback from the instructor and other students in the workshop, and are expected to give feedback to others, as well (like a writers room). Maximum six students. On Zoom. $500

Email Madalyn to sign up.

Script Consultations

I do script consultations for comedies!  All consultations include scene by scene written notes and an hour long consultation via Zoom. Consultations are $150 per half hour script.  Please contact me for more information.

Here’s what people have to say about my pilot notes:

Madalyn is such a huge help at any stage of the script, outline, idea or proto-idea process.  She knows both how to ask the right questions and offer strong solutions to get your script strong and grippy.  - Eric Cunningham

Madalyn's notes almost immediately have made my scripts sharper, funnier and better stories all around. She will not only point out the things that were working, but the sections you know could use work and ones you didn't even know could use work, making your script the best script it can be! - Geoff Garlock

Madalyn’s notes offer clarity that cuts right to the heart of the issue helping to draw out what’s working and refine your strengths so you can fully realize your script’s potential. - Justin Carter

Madalyn's notes are super sharp and exceedingly clear.  She can quickly diagnose the problem, and immediately provide the prescription to make it better.  She knows what makes a good pilot, inside and out. I will 100% request her feedback on my next project.  - Laura Fabius

Madalyn's feedback is clear, concise, and actionable. She articulates exactly where and why a scene or character isn't working in a way that's easy to understand (even if you're new to pilot/TV writing), and shows you how to fix it. - Tom Powers

Madalyn has a strong understanding of the fundamentals of pilot writing and how to create funny, sustainable characters. She has a unique ability to pinpoint anything that may not be working with your script and tell you exactly how you could troubleshoot it. Her notes are enthusiastic, supportive and encouraging with great attention to detail. Any time I had a question for Madalyn about my pilot or about the writing process in general, she was quick to respond with invaluable advice. I highly recommend working with Madalyn to explore the full potential of your pilot. - Ethan David

Madalyn’s feedback helped me write my strongest pilot! She is a pilot ninja and helped me write funny, strong, flawed and interesting characters that drove compelling conflict in my story. I feel empowered with the writing skills I learned and feel better prepared to keep on writing! - Nate Brown

Madalyn has a way of reading a script and knowing immediately if it works or not. And if it doesn't work she will make sure to help you figure out what direction you can take your work in. She doesn't leave you in limbo. - Kendra Augustin
