Comedy Writer and Director

Madalyn Baldanzi is a comedy writer, director, and teacher in Maplewood, New Jersey. Most recently she wrote on Season 7, Champions Chat and Season 6 of The Champions on Max. She is a proud member of the WGA-E and is represented by Caitlin O’Shaughnessy at The Book Group.

She wrote for all four seasons of Go90's Mr. Student Body President. She was a participant in the 2019 Screenwriters Colony Episodic Comedy Colony, one of three finalists in the 2019 Nantucket Film Festival Showtime’s Tony Cox Episodic Screenplay competition, and a finalist in the 2019 Yes, And Laughter Lab. She was a 2017 Made In New York Writers Room Fellow. She has also written in the audio space for Secret Sauce on Wondery, Book of the Month’s Virtual Book Tour podcast, and an original audio dramedy for Audible. She was an official selection committee juror for the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival Audio Storytelling Program. She is the co-writer of Above Average series Katie: A Lady and was a long-time contributor to Funny Or Die.  Her work has been featured in the Iron Mule Short Comedy Film Festival, the Brooklyn Comedy Film Festival, the Goshen Film Festival, and the Huffington Post.

At the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre, Madalyn wrote for several house teams and shows including running shows Bullshit WomenA Date With Every Boy, and Sketch Cram.

Madalyn graduated from Swarthmore College. She enjoys reading, especially literary fiction and fantasy. She is also an avid follower of the US Women's National Soccer Team. In fact, she hosts a podcast called Settle the Score about the USWNT!
